Our own project: a map of positive news from around the world, filled by an automated pipeline rather than an editorial team.
What we built
Meridia is a map of positive news from around the world, and it is our own project. The site is in English and runs at www.meridia.news. No editorial team chooses or writes the stories: a custom-built automated pipeline does, and the site says so openly on its About page.
How the pipeline works
Scheduled jobs on the server regularly fetch articles from RSS feeds and news APIs. For new articles the pipeline pulls the full text from the source page. A language model judges whether the story is positive, assigns it a topic, determines the place and writes a plain-language summary. The place is turned into coordinates. An article that passes the checks is published on its own, always with a link to the original source.
What the reader sees
The main page is an interactive map. A story appears on it as a point, as an area, or as a route between two places. Next to the map is a list of stories with search and filters by topic, country and period; on a phone the list slides up from the bottom. The site also offers topic pages, a monthly roundup, longer Insights articles with charts that the model assembles from several stories and from research papers, and a Good News Index that ranks countries by their positive news.
Accounts and operations
Readers can create an account with e-mail or Google, save articles and set favourite topics. A signed-in user can submit a link to a story; a new contributor waits for approval. The operator has an admin panel with the sources, the article queue, moderation, pipeline status and an overview of AI costs.
The site generates its own sitemap, including a news sitemap, structured data and preview images for sharing, and reports new pages to search engines.

Publishing or changing is a click in the administration, not a new version of the website.
On our side, we maintain operations — hosting, databases with backups, and email distribution. It's a paid service, and clients choose what they need from it.
What do you ask about a similar project

- How much does such a project cost?
The price depends on the scope, not on a per-item price list. Websites start at CZK 39,000. For web applications, the range is intentionally broad — a small internal tool starts at CZK 5,000, a larger system at CZK 149,000, because these are not comparable things. Mobile applications start at CZK 199,000. We provide a specific amount once we know what the project should do.
Pricing for projects and operations- Who manages the content after handover?
Client. Everything is managed through the administration at cms.sitely.cz, where the client handles the content independently and simultaneously views their website's traffic. Integration with Search Console, Analytics, Google Ads, and Facebook Ads is part of this administration. Publishing or making changes requires just a click in the administration, not a new website version.
- What remains up to you?
Operation. Hosting, domain, and certificate from CZK 290 per month, database and daily backups from CZK 290 per month, mailing from CZK 190 per month, administration CZK 490 per month. It's a paid service, and the client selects only what they need. Everything together starts at CZK 1,290 per month.
- How is such a requirement reached?
It starts with a design. The design is drawn, presented, and revised repeatedly until it fits—review cycles are included at no extra cost, as long as the original brief remains unchanged, and we don't charge for them. Work begins only after the design has been approved. If the scope changes during the process, this is quoted separately, and the client is informed in advance.
- Can we have our existing website redesigned?
Yes, it's one of the two ways you can approach us. Just send the address of your current website and we'll take a look at it. We'll tell you what can be kept, what needs to be rebuilt, and what would be resolved by doing so. Only then do you decide.
